Complete Rollout for UCD School of Public Health

DSS, Ireland’s leading infrastructure and services company, has just announced the recent completion of a significant HP laptop and Tablet PC rollout for the UCD School of Public Health. The rollout was carried out to facilitate a field study project being carried out by UCD in conjunction with the Health Services Executive.
Following a competitive tendering process last July, DSS were awarded the contract to supply the college with 100 HP laptops and over 120 HP tablet PC’s. As well as being most economically advantageous, DSS were selected for this project on the basis of their ability to meet tight delivery deadlines and their configuration and imaging services provided from the Technical Integration centre in Ballymount.
Project details
The rollout project commenced in January of this year and was completed successfully at the end of March. The services provided by DSS for this project included:
- Product ordering and stock holding
- Creation of software image specifically for the filed study project
- PC/Tablet build and imaging with UCD specific software
- Delivery on-site within agreed tight deadlines
According to John Murphy, Government Team Account Manager “DSS have been working with UCD for a number of years and we are delighted at the successful completion of this project. We worked closely with UCD School of Public Health in matching our delivery schedule to meet their needs and our close working relationship further ensured that the project was delivered on-time and within budget”.
Commenting on the completed project, Deidre O’Mahony, Data Manager for the UCD School of Public Health said “We are very pleased with the rollout of the IT equipment for this project. The flexibility in how DSS approached this project to meet our deadlines and storage limitations were key in ensuring the success of the project for us”.
